UCSD By Design

John Walsh is Director Emeritus of the J. Paul Getty Museum. He is the former curator of painting at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the former curator of European painting at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and has taught at Columbia and Harvard. His recent research is on the history of the sculpture garden.

Public Lecture and Moderated Discussion Series is a series of lectures and discussions reflecting on the history and future of “campus” as built environment, landscape, and site for public art. Presented as part of UCSD by Design: Art, Architecture, and Urbanism in the Campus Context in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the University of California, San Diego
